So Apple's processors are too weak to handle Flash on the internet?

My Apple laptop's fans go nutso now when doing anything Flash, while my PC jumps through hoops with ease and nary a slowdown or murmer from the fans. I suspect Jobs didn't want folks to realize that his Apple hardware isn't able to handle large amounts of Flash on the internet because it overheats it and won't keep up, and so he's saying Flash is just too buggy to use.

As a lifelong Mac user, I'm rooting for all the competitors right now - Nexus One, Google android platform, Palm Pre et al., and every other slate computer heading to market that supports Flash on the web. Someone has to stop the ridiculous 'my-way-or-the-highway' Jobs before he erases half the history of the internet by blanking out anything ever created with Flash completely - yes that's right - everything that has ever been done in history of the internet with Flash will become entirely unwatchable on his iPhoney and iFad. Talk about erasing history. Jobs is an idiot... he should have said he wouldn't support anything Flash GOING FORWARD, so that everything that exists already that has been created with Flash still is usable.

I can't imagine all the creative learning pages and special features of websites across the planet that will be lost to those who use the iFad thinking it does everything.

Hardly.

2. Seeing Flash on Nexus One makes me realize it is necessary for the web

The battery life issue is ridiculous since playing games intensively using processing power in flash is a choice vs. browsing sites that have some basic flash interactivity - menus, etc. I think it is funny that Apple talks about how the iFad is the best way to brows the internet, yet they only list 12 sites that are iFad ready... maybe they should have built an iFad that was INTERNET READY instead of hoping folks would dumb down their websites to accommodate their sloppy designing and software.

I bet you when folks see the real internet experience exists on Android /Palm Pre phones and not even on the iFad, they are going to be a little more than annoyed. Can't wait to get my android phone... and AT&T looks to be ready to take on the Palm Pre Plus - so many options, so little time.

3. They could probably handle it, they just think it is beneath them.
You know Apple. If they didn't invent it and don't have rights to it, they don't want anyone using it.

5. Flash is much more reliable (and less buggy) than Windows Media Player or Quicktime.
I save flash videos to disk all the time and they are easily the best playback format.

6. I have a Motorola Droid
flash won't play on it. I've been hearing that someday the android platform will support it, but for now, no flash.
