If so, can you recommend one?

1. It would really help me if you got a reverse hot tub, with the water on the outside.
Then I don't have to get one.

2. It's a big petri dish that has to be kept running and filtered...
...so it doesn't freeze or get germy.

3. Don't owe one
but the ones I have been in, I've loved. So great. Especially in the winter. Not sure about maintenance, cost, etc, though.

5. We have one
A Hot Springs tub. They are expensive but I understand the quality is good (it's hard to compare brands). Ours is 110volts and relatively cheap to run.

I love it and use it nearly every day, but my Wife less so.

I put in an insulated re-enforced slab to set it on.

7. A friend of mine who knows real estate around here (Philadelphia) says that:
an outdoor hot tub will add resale value to your house, while a swimming pool ends in a draw. (The safety and maintenance issues of a pool tend to cancel out the pleasures.)
Then again, he may not know what he's talking about.

8. we have an old dimension one beater,
replaced the guts (heater/pump) last year and patched up a crack or two - should be good for another couple years then I would really like (husband) to build a permanent one. I like the dimension one's plastic tub way better than the old fiberglass ones - don't now much about the newfangled stuff, but there is NOTHING better than hot water on a cold winter night - it is the ONLY way to do non-telescope star-gazing. Fuck bundling on a lawn chair with a sleeping bag and hot chocolate. Naked and a glass of wine is MUCH more civilized.

I have lot's of tips if you are thinking of going lower end, used. Let me know.

9. Definitely worth it. My wife and I use ours nearly every night.
There isn't a streetlight within a 1/4 mile of our house and we sit there with wine or cocktails and see who can count the most falling stars. Average is about 10 each in an hour or so.
