Firefox blues
Edited on Mon Mar-15-10 03:54 PM by Sugarcoated
Several days ago most of the book images on Amazon weren't showing up for me. I thought it was them, but I think it's me, or I should say, my Firefox browser.

The images load if I surf with IE (which I never do, unless I'm not able to access something with my browser of choice). I also go to a site called Fantastic Fiction, and some images there aren't showing, but only the ones connected to the Amazon links.

What now? Has anyone else experienced this, possibly know what's causing it?

9. Do you have themes and add-ons (extensions) installed? they might be causing problems
Edited on Mon Mar-15-10 05:33 PM by Urban Prairie
due to incompatibility issues. I always install the mrtech extension first before anything else on a fresh install of Firefox (NOT an updated version btw.) and then install the "nightly tester tools" extension next.

Edit: you can add another "profile" for firefox to the default by clicking start, then click run, then type in firefox -p in the space, then press the enter key, which will bring up a dialog box that will let you add another profile with any name that you choose that will function like a clean install of the current version of your Firefox browser.

17. Pages with video?
Thats what was killing me for a while recently. It was an issue with the lastest flash update for me. When I nuked the computer and use the restoration discs, then reinstalled everything fresh with the latest versions, everything was magically fixed.

I had done a search but didn't go to the Mozilla forums.

Such a relief, but I'd like to know how the block image box got checked in the first place.

14. Firefox just had an update
I'd be willing to bet that the issue started when Firefox upgraded to 3.6.

16. Well, I didn't check the site, but from personal experience, I know
that I've accidentally clicked on "Block images from...." instead of "Save image as" (it's 2 items below it), generally when my processor was really busy with something else and there was a delay in updating the screen.

15. Well . . .
I got the update window and hemmed and hawed and finally clicked "okay." When it re-started Firefox it didn't re-start Firefox at all. I clicked on Firefox and re-opened it and I don't think the update 'took.' Now I keep getting update notices and am ignoring them.

My computer's been weasly lately anyway so I am just waiting to see what happens next . . .
