2. i love the scene in 'all the president's men'

when woodward and bernstein are trying every white house insider on their list to tell them something, anything, only to get doors repeatedly slammed in their faces.

then finally, a woman opens up her house to them, offers them tea, and rips into the nixon administration, saying i'm a republican but i can't stand by this.

woodward and bernstein are drooling, it all sounds too good to be true.

then finally she she says something that makes it clear she doesn't work in the white house. then the dialogue, something like:

'mrs. smith?'
'yes?'
'mrs. emily smith?'
'uh, mrs. jane smith....'

d'oh!

3. The scene toward the end in "Z" (the greatest political film ever made)...

when you realize that the magistrate, who's been enlisted by the fascists for the sole purpose of whitewashing the party's nefarious and murderous deeds, is so shocked and pissed off by the hubris and overall "asshole-ishness" of the controlling party that he actually tries to DO HIS JOB in bringing the bastards to justice.

I keep wishing and fantasizing that such a thing will happen here and now. I wish that there was just ONE person in our government who had the guts to challenge the BFEE and ultimately tell them where they absolutely MUST go.
