The Dentist: A Five Year Report...
I made it through the appointment without throwing a fit, fainting, or crying. He poked and scraped a little bit, mostly he just looked at xrays and checked teeth.

Good News: He said that my teeth and gums are remarkably healthy -- especially considering that I haven't been to a dentist in five years.

Bad News: I need a filling and crown in neighboring teeth (I kind of knew that) and two older crowns need to be replaced. My insurance pays 80% for major work -- but caps off at $1000. So, I'll do the first (filling and crown) this year and the two crowns next year. They aren't as critical....

He was kind and gentle. But he's still a dentist and has a pointy probe in his hand. Scares the shit outta me!
