Please suggest something for me to watch from Netflix's watch instantly
1. I love comedy.
2. And a good story.
3. Anything well made..
4. Politics, history, and travel..
5. But no horror please. This is the only genre that I don't have an interest in.

Thanks in advance !

1. "An Angel for May"
Also "Rare Birds" and "Ben X". "The Man From Earth" and "The King of California". All excellent.

3. The Man From Earth
It's not a comedy, but it certainly satisfies the last four criteria. It's basically seven people sitting around in a cabin talking about something amazing. I swear you will not be able to stop watching, and you will find yourself thinking about the movie for a week or more.

4. Revanche
An Austrian film film about an ex-con working in a brothel who's in love with one of the Ukranian slaves working her debt off. I'll say nothing more to avoid spoiler terrain.

I saw it last night on DVD, so I don't know if it's set up for instant viewing.

5. I just watched Wall-E the other evening
I was pleasantly surprised to find it on the "Watch Instantly" list. Excellent movie. I was less pleasantly surprised to finally have fallen for Notting Hill, also on the instant list. :puke:

6. Not sure if it's your cup of tea, but
I just finished watching season 7 of The Shield on netflix instant. If you've watched the show in the past and know the story, I can only say that the final season is absolutely phenomenal. I watched all 13 or so episodes in about 3 days, just couldn't stop.

If it's not a show you know, though, I'd give it a pass. Not the kind of thing to walk in on the end of the story on!

:)

7. Cocteau's "Beauty And The Beast"...a masterpiece of filmmaking.

Comedy: "Best In Show"

Drama: "Tender Mercies"

8. "Return of the Secaucus 7" fits all your criteria (except maybe well-made)
but the low budget is part of the charm. John Sayles' first. A buddy just emailed the other day that it's on the Watch Instantly list. It was one of our favorite movies back in the '80s. Was the movie they ripped off completely to make "The Big Chill."
