A bobsled question...
I was watching women's bobsled, and I notice on all the participants, there was this grey spiderweb thingie on the asses of the suits they were wearing. What is the purpose of this thing? Is it to reenforce the asses of the suits so that there would be no wardorbe malfunctions, or what?

2. Well, it's not to make sure that they stay in the sled, which was my first thought.
I was watching last night and one of the German women came flying out of her sled on the turn! :wow: :scared:

5. I saw that. Scared the crap out of me.
The driver of the sled seemed shocked at the end. IIRC, she was on pace for a medal.

7. Me, too!
I yelled "Holy shit!" at the TV... I was anxious to see what had happened, but she was apparently okay. Amazing. They reach speeds of over 90mph and it looked pretty bad. x(

6. And for the record.
I did not notice this due to the fact that I was ogling the big and beautiful backsides of the bobsledders.

Yeah, that's the ticket....
