3. Woot!

I'm shocked - I'm thrilled Canada won, but it's not like anyone was expecting this kind of rout - they had a much harder time beating Switzerland than Russia! Canada really dominated the game, especially in the first 2 periods, and were successful at shutting down the Russian superstars.

I hope they realize they can't take the next game for granted, though, no matter how well they did in this game.

6. They took it to them early and never let up.

That was the difference. Hey Hey, I agree with you Canada played great against the US and the Swiss, but both Hiller and Miller(ha) stood out big time. We outshot the US 3-1 at best, but the US was hungrier.
When Canada came out against Russia, they played hard, won every battle, got to every loose puck, worked and worked and worked and it paid off.
Key is getting a couple quick goals. Then hunkering in and continue playing like it's the last game you will ever play.
Stay out of the penalty box. Block shots. Shoot at the net.
One game at a time...we're still in it! Anything can happen.
