26. I have a Honeycrisp tree!
It's fairly small so I only got a few apples off it last year; hope for more this year.

8. Crispy and just the correct amount of tangy so....
that you don't have to use too much sugar. There are really good Pippin
Pie recipes all over the internets...
Here in SoCal the chain grocery stores
start carrying the Pippins about the second week or so in November and
run through December.

9. For what? Eating? Pies? Jelly? For eating, I picked other: the Honeycrisp, a Minnesota
invention.

Otherwise I go with the apples off my trees, one of which is a Duchess and the other two I haven't identified yet.

My favorite used to be Granny Smith until Pink Lady came along. Now it's these lovelies - the perfect mix of sweet and tart with good firm bite. I may buy me some today.

Yet the delicious apples from my tree in the back yard, right off the tree at peak flavor are beyond compare.

38. Golden Delicious and any of it's crosses, like Johnagold...
...Ginger Gold, Honey Gold, Gala, Cameo... BUT, they have to be ripe. Most of the Golden Ds I see tend to be green, which means they were picked before they were ripe. Nothing beats a ripe Golden Delicious, not even any of its cultivars.

39. OTHER: JAZZ...there is no other apple like it
I prefer it even to HoneyCrisp and Pink Lady.

It is a cross of Gala and Braeburn and it is crisp and tangy and sweet and almost tastes effervescent.

I also like Pacific Rose a lot
