Holy Fuck Endersdame is going to London (hopefully)!
All she has to do is figure out a way to pay for it! I woke up this morning and saw that the deadline for a 2 wk drama class (offered through my Community College )in London was being extended. Proceeded to get my birth certificate and applied for a passport. I dropped off the application with some doubts because the first time I tried said community college I just fucked around and my GPA is pretty low. I got accepted I just cant get a scholar ship but damn it I feel good and even if this does not pan out I still have my passport coming to me. I have been doing a lot of growin this year dumped my long time no good for me boyfriend; dumped alcohol and dairy as well. I feel fuckin great.

1. London is a terrific city
If you end up for sure going, feel free to PM me - I lived there for about two months and can recommend some fun off-the-beaten-path things to do.

5. The exchange rate between TX and London will put your hair on end. Round trip on the tube can cost
$10. It gets worse from there.

18. I was in London a couple weeks ago
Got what's called an Oyster Card for the Tube - travel within certain travel zones in the city for a week was at a significant discount. Don't know if it would work if you're they're for much longer though.

24. There was no discount with an Oyster when I was there. The system was
all screwed up.

But you cross zones and really pay for it. Same in DC when you cross to Maryland or VA.

15. But it will be World Cup time
Watch a match in the pub. For an even better time, watch an England match in the pub. For the best time, watch the England-US match in the pub and cheer every-time the US does something good.

16. Do it!!
I went to London for a month with my theater class in college and it was one of the best times I ever had. My slogan by the end of the month was "Sixteen plays in 24 days!" Yes, I saw THAT many! It's a glorious place for theater!

Have a great time! :hi:

23. Oooh, that I'm not so sure about
I went to the Bank of Mom and Dad.

Actually, it was my own money I had made from working summers in between college years at hellacious jobs. They kept a tight rein on it, so I had to do some major begging and jumping through hoops to convince them to loosen the purse strings. Worth it, though!

17. Nice!
London is a wonderful city. I spent 4 months there studying abroad in college. Absolutely amazing. The exchange rate is going to hurt, but it is ABSOLUTELY worth it to go.

If you're going to be taking the tube a lot, check out the prices on weekly cards. If you use it a lot you'll definitely save; and the tube there goes everywhere.

Good luck and I hope you get to go!
