What's for dinner tonight, DU Loungers??
I have a pot roast in the crock pot that I put in a little after ten this morning. Should be eating in around eight tonight!!!

Just gotta add the spuds and carrot in a few minutes!

:hi:

1. I made pot roast last weekend. Lots of good leftovers!
We had burgers tonight. We do quick and easy on Saturdays and I make a big meal on Sunday.

2. How's this for boring:
an orange-pineapple smoothie. I'm not supposed to chew this weekend to see if my tooth gets better. I'll probably have a little ice cream later and make an Irish coffee. Dentist didn't say what kind of liquid.

4. Leftovers. We had pot roast last week and I froze the leftovers, then pulled them out a couple days
ago and made a shepherd's pie with them. So it's leftover shepherd's pie, or leftover pizza, or one leftover shredded pork sandwich, or, for me, a salad.

5. stuffed peppers
It was a toss-up between those or stuffed cabbage. SOMEthing needed stuffing, and I opted for the less smelly of the two.

12. Threw a "Get Stuffed" dinner party for friends once...
.
... that consisted of three different stuffed vegetables.
.
A stuffed tomato, a stuffed zucchini and a Mexican stuffed bell
pepper -- Mexican more probably for the colors of the flag than
for the spices. Green pepper, white walnut-cream sauce, and red
pomegranate seeds sprinkled on top.
.
A big hit.
.
HUGE.
.
Tonight... maybe chicken breasts dusted with smoked paprika and
baked in a yogurt sauce with MAYBE mandarin oranges -- although
I'm more in the mood for peach slices right now.
.
.
Although... if I'm tired... maybe just a Fluff-r-Nutter sammitch.
.
If I'm REALLY tired... just a glass or two of red wine.
.

7. My dear madinmaryland!
Your dinner sounds wonderful!

We're eating my leftover spaghetti sauce on pasta, with romano and parmesan cheeses on top...

I've been cooking this one for so long, and we both love it!

10. American chop suey
but there is no one here to enjoy it because I had a fight w/ my kid.

I have a feeling his friends are smacking him around and telling him to be grateful for my generosity. But alas, he may not get it until he has to be generous to his own kids.

18. I was going to make homemade pizza - since my OVEN is working again
but I started playing around with my sourdough starter and needed the oven for that. The kids wanted to go to town for something so I told them to pick up a couple u-bake pizzas and we will have the homemeade in a few days. Still need the OVEN for the u-bakes, just don't have to build them. Did I mention my OVEN is working again?

Going to really give it a work-out tomorrow - old style Sunday dinner with roast and pie and rolls of some kind. Because I can cook things in my WORKING OVEN again!

:woohoo:
