Pizza Overkill - This is crazy.
Driving to the train station this morning, it occured to me that in the last 3 months, there had been two new Pizza Parlour/Restaurants opened along the route that I take. So I decided to do a little research and found out that there are 17 Pizza joints within a 3 mile radius of the center of the town that I live in.

17!

Not a single Indian or Thai Restaurant. Not a single Pho hut. Not one Vietnamese place. But 17 frikken pizza joints.

Now granted, we have some really, I mean really great pizza where I live. But this is nuts.

Doing the math...there are 19,543 residents and 17 pizza places. That means that there is one pizza parlour for every 1149.6 people.

WTF!

Somebody please move to my town and open up a decent Curry shop. I beg of you.

End of rant. Thanks for listening.

6. Cost to make a pizza
Anyone have any idea what it costs to make a pizza? 50 cents? $1.00?
When I was in high school I worked at a Burger Chef and the manager told me the cost of their big burger was 3 cents for them to make. That was back in 1969.

8. Welcome The Rock!
Welcome to DU! :hi: We think you'll like it here!

Two things: 'The Scorpion King' sucked; and why are you remaking "Walking Tall"? It was about rural corruption in Tennessee in the 1960's.

9. Hey, we love pizza here!
Chicagoans are pizza lovers. Chicago is the number one city in the world for pizza. There are also more kinds of pizza available here than anywhere else in the world. I have a book written in the 70's which describes how to make a couple of dozen different kinds of Chicago pizzas. We are also the home of deep dish pizza.

As far as other types a culinary experience, Chicago is ceartainly one of the most ethnically diverse cities in the world. One thing is ceartain, within a half hour ride of anywhere in the Chicagoland, you can find virtually any kind of cuisine possible.

Do you like Lebanese cuisine? I suggest The Grape Wrapper on Oak Park Avenue in Oak Park.

For a particularly good deep dish pizza, try Pequods in Morton Grove or the Webster Place area in the city. Another excellent stuffed pizza can be had from Guiseppes in Naperville and Westmont.

11. You're very familiar with my town, ....
...Ron.

Leona's just opened up a flagship restaurant at 175th & Dixie Hwy.

It's great. And the martini's are very generous. But I'm sick of pizza.
