1. Me
4-8 inches by tomorrow evening. That doesn't sound like a lot when compared with others places, but it is really flat here and the wind is going to be brutal!

8. I can't decide which is more impressive. Seeing snow on the hills in WV and PA, or seeing snow on..
the plain in IN and IL

2. Us. Another 5-9 inches expected, on top of the foot and a half we already have.
And the university says that they're going to be OPEN tomorrow.

Joy.

4. I hate how universities are so anal about staying open in bad weather.
The students don't want to come, the instructors don't want to come. If it weren't for the fact that they have some people living on campus, there would be many times when nobody could come.

11. I know! It makes no sense at all.
All the public schools are closed, the sidewalks are still covered in over 3 feet of snow (thanks, snowplows), the streets are pure black ice, half the town doesn't have power, we're expecting ANOTHER big storm tomorrow, and the governor has already declared a state of emergency again--but WVU is gonna be open. Brilliant. Just brilliant.

What's worse is that my early professor tomorrow is a complete fucking Nazi with the most unfair and strict attendance policy I've ever seen at this school. He gave us ONE allowed absence; after that, if we're not there, we lose an entire letter grade from our final class grade for every extra day we miss--basically, miss three and it's an automatic F. Deb and I have already missed our one, thanks to a sick kid. We have to make it tomorrow, even if we (literally) kill ourselves trying.

I really, REALLY hate that class. Oh yes--and ALL of my other professors for tomorrow have already e-mailed us to cancel their classes. Grrrr.

20. Depending on the course of the storm, we will get 6 to 18" from this one,
most of it as an all-day storm Wednesday. Will coem with 35-45 MPH winds and blizzard conditions, high temps under 30.

We just dug our old Santa Fe SUV out yesterday, and it is really effortless in snow. It is a great feeling not to have to go anywhere, either...I would be very stressed if I had to go to work Wednesday and watch snow falling all day while I was there....
