Don't forget that in ER they have ovens filled with lots of blankets. Don't hesitate to ask for at least three, two for your love, and one for yourself. This stressful situation will make you cold and your love will be cold anyway from the stress of the pain he is in. Love to you both. I'm praying hard and sending as many good vibes as I can muster.

Just a kidney stone...

JUST.

Enough to cause the nausea...

They gave him IV fluids, pain meds, and a CT scan...it showed the stone.

And wow, the waiting room!

PACKED.

We waited out there for about an hour for triage, and then another couple of hours to get into the ER proper. Everyone was as nice and professional as they could be.

But they were busy, and so there was lots of waiting...

We did get him a warm blanket and that helped lots.

I truly felt the Lounge Vibes!

I love you all...

What a relief to be home...

63. Ah, Peg, I'm so glad it was something very treatable, though horribly

painful; I know, for my late husband had two hospitalizations for kidney stones. I am so glad you found the warm blankets. I have traveled so many times to the ER over the past 25 years for my disabled husband, that it became second nature to look for coffee and warm blankets for both of us. Much love, and take care. This is a great outcome.

I do know that as a nurse yourself you know there are a handful of things that can cause serious tummy pain...I'm just glad it is a treatable event and I am confident you guys will be up on the regimen to follow :)

Laz was in the ER for a kidney stone last November; it was too big to pass so he had to wait another two days for a surgeon to go in and use the lazar to break it up. Excruciating.

Best wishes for an easy recovery - oh, and Vicodin can be your friend, even afterwards for a day or two.
