I know about the discount travel sites for flights originating here. But I was wondering if you were in the UK for example if there was a better way than others for getting a deal on tickets to the USA, say from London to Chicago?

1. Get yourself extradited as a criminal wanted in the US.
That's pretty cheap.

4. Any students involved?
Even if no students involved - statravel.co.uk - generally dirt cheap travel for students but these days they'll sell at higher prices to non students.

Otherwise go to www.google.co.uk and type in "cheap travel to usa" and a whole bunch of sites will pop up, some with names you know, some you don't.

6. I never used the discount travel sites-- just went to the...
airlines themselves when travelling this time of year. Beat the online travel agents every time. A live travel agent often helped, too, but I don't know if they even exist any more. That was NY to somewhere in Europe off-season when the flights were empty and they almost paid you to fly.

Europe to here? It's the same airlines, but the EU has some different rules on competition, so last time I looked (a few years ago) the deals weren't quite as good as they are here.
