I get angry when I click on a link to read an article at a news site and it takes me to a damn video

1. It WOULD be nicer to be alerted to such posts in the subject line.

Because I'm still using dial-up, I tend to skip over almost all video posts.

who finds that annoying!!

News sites have become too full of videos now.. if I wanted to watch a video of something I would go to YouTube.. don't people READ articles anymore?:shrug:

3. I would appreciate some warning that:

1) message is a link to a video

2) message consists of song lyrics (and please ad author/artist when posting lyrics - thanks)

3) it is a mystery/surprise and there is no summary of whatever link is posted

9. I hate that as much as seeing headlines for an article with a list...

...and then being linked to a damn slide show. Forbes.com is the worst. Why can't they just post the list, and link to the friggin' photos?

10. For a lot people nowadays, "news" is something to see -not something to read;

and- its probably cheaper to post a video clip onto a website than to pay someone to write stuff. The more I encouter videos-as-news, I keep thinking of the novel 'Farehneit 451'.

I can skim a written story in a few seconds to see if I want to read it in depth, but I won't spend 3 to 5 minutes watching a video to see if they've buried the lede.
