I gotta say - I like Windows 7

It's very spherical, bubble-like (read: very much like Mac OSX) - but its not the usual bloatware I get from Microsoft OSs. Things like simple backup (yes, I realize this is market intrusion into the backup biz - which is where I work for a competitor) are nice.

It's 64 Bit, which gives you some advantages in terms of file size, speed on load and indexing. When you deal with really large files, they open a lot faster. Problem is most of the stock programs (IE, Office 2010) are all 32 bit! There are, however, 64 bit programs in the Program Files Directory. So you can use IE in 64 bit, but there aren't any helper apps (Adobe Flash) written for it yet.

2. I like it too except...

Man at work we are setting up my system to use as a test station for Windows 7 because I happen to have an extra license but I've found quite a few programs just flat-out don't work with it, and I installed an outdated printer driver which really fucked it up. Oh well it's a huge learning curve.

That said I cant wait until my new Toshiba laptop arrives later this week. :woohoo:

Damned irritating if you ask me. I had to install new drivers for my monitor(only one year old), old hp printer, digital camera too old and no new driver as of yet at canon.com. It took hours of working with my tech savvy brother to finally have the monitor working properly.
Why doesn't Microsoft make it easier for older equipment to work with 7?
My other brother in the business keeps saying, "Buy a Mac." Only problem is they're too expensive!

So those who buy the OEM Home or Starter versions get screwed as older program compatibility is close to Vista. XP Mode only comes with 7 Pro, Ultimate, and Enterprise.

I love it. I fortunately never had to experience Vista. I jumped straight from XP on the desktop to Win7.

I can't afford Office '10, so I kept my old Office 03, which works just fine so far. One of these days I'm going to pull out my old Civ2 disc and see if that will run.

I can't think of any changes that I want to be made, so I don't upgrade until I have to.

All I ever use is Word and Excel, anyway.

Couldn't afford one of the new i5 models but it should be a huge improvement over what I have now. Oh and it has Blu-Ray too! :woohoo:

5. I have Windows 7 Starter on my netbook.

And I have to say, I love it. I am planning on upgrading to Windows 7 Home Premium soon. (Getting tired of staring at a blue background all the time.. LOL)

Windows 7 is a huge improvement over that piece of crap known as Vista!

12. Windows 7 Starter came on my netbook as well...

It's a pretty good OS. I like it. I never got around to using Vista.
Our Desktop at home still has Windows XP.
