Miley's big news: 'Hannah' is over

Wave goodbye to "Hannah Montana."

The upcoming fourth season will be its last, Disney officials told The Post.

Miley Cyrus -- who plays Miley Stewart, a down-to-earth high schooler who leads a secret double life as pop star Hannah Montana -- has been making noises for more than a year that she is ready to move on.

But the news quietly marks the end of one of the most successful kids' shows ever. The show still averages nearly 5 million viewers a week.

"You never know in this business . . . but right now we're scheduled to wrap after shooting this new batch of episodes," says Disney Channel Worldwide's Adam Bonnett, senior VP/programming.

5. Yep.
Let's make a pact (all hook pinkies together and inhale...)

"We will teach our children to not suck the Rat. We will teach our children to not suck the Rat."

Repeat as necessary.

Probably time for her to Spears/Aguilera herself.

10. Like you didn't expect this...
Remember she used to do "Hannah Montana" concerts IRL, then did the "Best of Both Worlds" tour, and now she's touring under her own name.

I don't think Disney's really worried, though; they'll just manufacture a new teen superstar and continue to live off the Hannah Montana reruns and licensed merchandise.

Really.

What will all the little girls do now.

She is getting a little to old for the part.

12. And she's taken the 'raunchy' turn, which is probably not what HM producers want. nt

14. best news I've heard all day.
I am so, so, SICK of seeing Hannah Montana shit everywhere I go. I don't know why but that certain fad has always bugged me. That being said, I do wish Miley Cyrus well, and hope she doesn't end up another Britney/Paris/Lindsay.

16. I really hope she does well. Just one time I'd like it to end well.
I know she's pop, and everybody views her as being akin to the Teletubbies, but wouldn't it be nice to see one of these "kids" turn out ok? No drug issues, no sex photos, no meltdowns in public--just an entertainer doing a job and living a happy life...

17. Excellent
I was entirely apathetic towards Hannah Montana until the local cable company began promoting the HELL out of her movie on Pay-Per-View with the SAME. DAMN. COMMERCIAL. at every possible commerical break on EVERY channel.

Ack.

Hmmmm... I wonder if "The Simpsons" will retire Alaska Nebraska?
