Okay, sports fans -- the Seahawks just fired their head coach
This was announced about an hour ago via Jay Glazer of FOX Sports.

It looks like they're blowing it all up and starting over.

What do you think about this?

4. Oh, this will be all kinds of fun
There are multiple Seahawks players who just had to change their pants, I'm thinking...

Wow. I had a feeling this would happen, but I was hoping I was wrong.

5. It was a bad fit from the beginning
Edited on Fri Jan-08-10 02:46 PM by Missy Vixen
There are several incidents that precipitated this, but I'm thinking mostly it was costing the Seahawks a chance at a GM they really wanted.

Paul Allen just left $12 million on the table for a reason.

6. Wow. Didn't they heavily recruit him for a couple of years?
Seems like they had worked really hard to get him, then they fired him after a year?

Maybe they want to hire Mike Leach. :)

10. That would be funny.
Didn't he suck in the pros? Does Seattle have a moral objection to winning or something?

Then USC could hire Mike Leach. Great coach, you just might have to monitor him around invalids, old people, dogs, injured players, and other human beings. He'd make USC dangerous, though--dangerous for other teams, dangerous for his own players...

12. Bill Belichick's first NFL gig didn't go so well either.
He learned.

Maybe Pete Carroll has learned too.

Living up here, there is just no life with the Seahawks right now. No one talks about them, except to say how much they suck. The buzz is with the Mariners UW and Sounders right now. Hell Seattle U's move to D-I hoops is generating more positive buzz.

13. There's a lot of evidence.
Pete was really into LA Live, a downtown development. He's best friends with the developer Tim Leiweke. Recognize that name Seahawks fans? That's right. Tim is Seahawks CEO Tod Leiweke's brother.

There's something cooking.

14. Oh, for God's sake
That explains it all.

I have no reason to doubt you, and let's just say that we have friends who work for the local ESPN affiliate. I'm mailing them right now.

Seahawks fans will go insane over this info...

19. Details of the Carroll offer
7 million per year. President AND Head Coach.
Steve Kelly at the Seattle times hates the idea

I really like the Seahawk blue ones. The lime ones? They take a bit of getting used to. Warning, big photo. ;-)

tanks as the Redskins coach there will be some other poor SOB who can be tapped for the job.
