This was the decade of my high school and college years. I grew up a lot and met lots of great people, and it was a pretty damn good time personally. On the other hand, it frikkin sucked historically in pretty much every way from start to finish, except for the 2008 election. The decade that started with talk of "the bridge to the 21st century" has turned into a lost decade, and nobody can dispute that.

On the other hand, I feel like this is kind of the final goodbye to childhood for my friends and I, even though it really ended a long time ago. But, this can be the decade of being young professionals and growing in new ways, so I'm looking forward to it :)

3. awwwwhhh.
I graduated high school in 06, had my kid in 08, got married in 09, and now here I am, an old maid at 21 in 10.

O.o

I said this in a journal on another site last night...I think it's hella cool how we're part of the small handful of humans who'll get to see the beginning of a millennium. In the entire history of humans, only a fraction of them will have seen 1000, 2000, 3000, and so on. It kinda makes you feel like you're special :D
