What American English sounds like to foreigners
Edited on Tue Dec-22-09 01:41 PM by populistdriven
An Italian singer wrote this song with gibberish to sound like English. If you've ever wondered what other people think Americans sound like, this is it.

A bit of Elvis in there, uh-huh :)

Very flat and affectless...I definitely prefer French (as do the French)

6. Sounded cool to me.
I like that their interpretation has a bluesy rock and roll backbeat. :)

7. I asked a friend who is a native Spanish speaker to describe the sound of American English and...
...she said it was "dark"-sounding, (probably because of our velarized Rs and Ls, I'm guessing), rich in consonant clusters, has a "muffled" sound (I'd assume because of vowel reduction and lots of schwas), and VERY nasal-sounding.

11. That's pretty cool.
I knew it was gibberish but my mind kept trying to pick up words.

Nice beat and dancing.
