1. Download free iTunes from apple on your PC, or your mac.
Everything rolls from there.

You manage all your iPod files from your desktop or laptop.

If you have more than one computer, pick only one to sync your files.

Good luck, have fun, Merry Christmas.

2. Congrats,
Yes, what was said.. pick one computer. Using two can result in bad things for your content. Also.. I suggest picking up a "case" for it, such as a scratch/impact resistant one.

5. I love my touch!
Huff Po and the New York Times have great apps. I also like the ebay and paypal apps. And Style.com.

You can get some cool word games too.

Have fun!

6. Give Santa a HUGE hug (or better) and then copy all of your CD's into iTunes.
I did my collection while I was busy with other household tasks. Put in a CD, start the copy, and go away. When you pass by and notice it is done, put in another one.

7. Congratulations!!
Make sure all your files reside on your computer and if you can, back those up on a portable hard drive.

Be careful when you unplug the iPod from your computer. Lelapin lost 2200 songs when she was distracted and pulled the plug when it was working.

They seem to be great and useful devices. My husband has an Iphone, and he loves that, too.

10. Always click the EJECT button in iTunes
before removing the iPod from the dock. I screwed up once and lost 80 gigs of music. Actually, the music was still on there, but the directory wouldn't let me access the music, and I had to reload it all. Royal pain in the butt.

11. Start digitizing the old stuff
the vinyl, the 8-tracks, the cassettes.

That should keep you busy for a while.

:hi:
