Three of my essays are getting published and I was offered a job to tutor new students

20. Advice from someone who has been there: Do submit your work to

magazines (after doing your research to form a good idea of which magazines would be most interested in a particular piece of your work; you don't want to waste an editor's time with a mistargeted submission).

There are SO many magazines these days (and travel magazines have always worked like this) that have small staffs so they rely on freelancers for the bulk of their feature stories / articles.

Do it. Start now.
