Do you do anything better when you're high/drunk?

I write better without filter or constraint. I know my sentance structure and grammar sometime need to be deciphered when sober, but aside from that...

36. I did most of mine on 6502/6510, Z80, 8088, and 68000 chips.

Those were all real-time desktop systems. Punchcards were still in use when I first started programming, and they had the punch machines in the terminal room at the community college I took BASIC and Fortran courses at in 78. I got to use one of the four terminals on an HP mini with a 300 MB drive that handled EVERYTHING. As I'm sure you know, back then the computer and the tape drive were each refrigerators and the drive was a stack of platters in a freezer chest. That's a hard concept to explain to people who can tuck a TB drive in their jeans pocket.

For me it's that I always feel too self conscious to really be able to shoot pool until I've a beer or two.

Maybe I handle emotional stress better when a little buzzed too - when I am upset my stomach kills and I can't eat at all, and sometimes a mild buzz helps that.
