1. Is it true that if you watch that movie you will spaz out from all the colors?

2. Especially in HD....
It is one great comic book come alive...

A comic printed on Gloss.

3. I enjoyed it.
Especially Racer X and his black leather clothing. Hubba hubba!

It was a fun movie. I'm somewhat surprised it did so poorly at the box office, especially with all those NASCAR fans out there.

4. Hmmm... I might have to reexamine viewing it.
I heard such bad things about it, but have kind of wanted to see it.

5. I thought it was way better than the reviews.
I wish they had explored the speed/racer x brother relationship more. Maybe they were hoping for a sequel.

7. What I have seen of it was good,
until they did those weird wipes between scenes and that turned me off.

11. The wipes were just too distracting to what was being said
and done. The over-saturation was interesting, like everything was HDR, but a bit too much for my tastes.

13. Also a tip of the hat to --
filmmaking of old, especially action serials.

8. It didn't feature The Mammoth Car; ergo it stinks!
I found the film visually off-putting, though I was pleasantly surprised in several places. I was bummed that my five-year-old didn't get into at all, because he's usually nuts about anything to do with cars or racing. Speed Racer just couldn't engage his interest.

14. It did, sort of...
The scene where the criminals were about to stick Taejo Togokahn's hand into the tank of piranhas took place in a Mammoth Car-like vehicle.

I suspect your son couldn't get into the film because it was way too long.

12. I thought it was a great deal of fun!
I was surprised at how poor the reviews were -- I found it visually wild and very entertaining. The set design had me in a wonderful tizzy. I am actually sorry I missed it in the theatres. I suspect this will be a film that develops a strong, loyal following and will eventually be reevaluted by critics.
