Those with asthma. Any personal experience with Theophylline?
I've got a bottle of it that I've been avoiding using. The side-effects I've found online are more than I care to deal with, but I'm running out of options.

What's your experience been? Not asking for advice. My doctor and I have discussed this and it's my decision.

1. Sorry. I don't use the stuff.
My condition is more of an annoyance than anything else. I do wish you luck and hope you find a workable solution.

2. Thanks
Mine's allergic asthma and I'm on Advair, Singulair and have a nebulizer at home. I keep a bottle of prednisone in my house too. An upper-respiratory virus put me in the ER last March. Never saw my numbers go that low. :-/

3. My brother took it for years.
He had very, very severe asthma when he was a kid. My mom credits Theophylline with getting his asthma under control. He's been off of the Theo for years now, but still carries an inhaler (of another med).

4. I never knew it was a drug.
Only that it's the alkaloid found in tea that's similar to caffeine. What about using theobromine? (It's the alkaloid in chocolate that's similar to those found in caffeine and tea.)
