Anyone else see Bob Ballard on 60 Minutes?

The two segments were great.

And the video of all those shoes, lying around the Titanic, was haunting.

Those shoes....Jesus.

2. For me, there's a personal connection to those shoes.

Those shoes could have been my grandparents and great-grandparents, on my Dad's side.

They were booked in 3rd class on the Titanic, but thanks to a bureaucrat in Europe, they were delayed and missed the boat.

4. It is all that is left of the bodies.

Leather does not deteriorate to the degree that flesh, bones and fabric do in the ocean and particularly at those depths.

The shoes represent where a body was 93 years ago.

It was eerie and sad. There were children's shoes next to adult shoes, presumably their mother's.
