Sun dried tomatoes, goat cheese and pin nuts on crescent rolls?
Watched this on the Today Show on Thanksgiving day, and it sounds wonderful

Anyone tried it?

http://www.pillsbury.com/Recipes/ShowRecipe.aspx?rid=47675&wtfs=1

INGREDIENTS
1 cup sun-dried tomatoes, drained and chopped
1/2 cup crumbled goat cheese
1/2 cup toasted pine nuts
1 can (8 oz) Pillsbury® refrigerated crescent dinner rolls

DIRECTIONS
1. Heat oven to 375°F. In medium bowl, stir together sun-dried tomatoes, goat cheese and pine nuts.
2. Separate dough into 8 triangles. Place about 3 tablespoons sun-dried tomato mixture down the length of each triangle. Roll up each, starting at shortest side of triangle and rolling to opposite point. Place rolls, point side down, on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 16 to 19 minutes until golden brown.

6. Just had it and it was great
what was different, for me, is to roll the triangles from the point side - to form a crescent, rather than from the wide side to be able to seal the goodies.

2. I used to LOVE Pilsbury crescent rolls
but they taste like chemicals to me now (been doing a lot of my own breads the last year or two)

so using good ingredients on "junk" dough/bread doesn't sound so good to me

3. Yup.
All Pillsbury products have always had a funky backtaste to them. And it's the same funky taste no matter which of their products you choose.

I would totally do that recipe with something else, tho. :hi:

7. I am sure that any dough would work
just make a large square and cut into six rectangles.

We just had them and it felt just like any other dough. Not that I am an expert.

5. If it's got sun-dried tomatoes and goat cheese, I'm willing to try it.
Two of my favorite ingredients on earth.
