1. Could have been a lot worse -
an inch or two up, and over to the side, and you might have lost an eye ....

2. Is there anything that couldn't have been a lot worse?
BTW, I was wearing eye protection and am now a firm believer.

The safety glasses were covered in blood splatters.

I can't imagine how icky would be to get an eye full of blood.

And I have had blood in the eyes. Not good, but not as bad as you might think.
