I find it offensive not for its lyrics or subject matter but rather because the whole album is such a pop sellout.

4. Exile and Supernova were great albums.

Heck, even Juvenalia is fun without being bubbleheaded pop crap.

That's what I meant when I said that the song and lyrics don't offend me--not in the slightest, in fact. It's the crap album on which the song appears!

It's kind of like David Bowie releasing Never Let Me Down after having released Heroes. A major disappointment!

Poor Liz made a calculated gamble to cash in on the cougar shtick...and failed miserably. Lost all credibility.
Truth be told, I thought that she always exploited sexual titillation...even in her "lo fi genius" days.

7. Liz got swept up in the hype after "Exile"

Rolling Stone kept proclaiming her "The next big thing" with each album after, and it never happened. Finally, she just sold out to get that top 40 hit.

It's funny, because when I bought the 15th anniversery reissue of "Exile" a couple years ago, the girl at the counter at Best Buy (late teens/early 20's) asked "Oh my God, is this new??? She rocks!". I didn't really know what to say........

8. I remember when I bought that CD

If it wasn't for the song HWC, I would have thought they messed up at the CD factory and put an Avril Lavigne album in there by mistake.

Kinda like when the "Sid & Nancy" soundtrack accidentally ended up on a Lawrence Welk CD. Just imagine how many grandmas got shocked by that one. :evilgrin:
