It's not always my cup of tea, but spectacles such as the Celtic Women...
produce good music, fine dancing and a pretty good show.

For those of us use to not even reasonable facsimiles of rock-n-roll songs produced live, these shows show me much more dedication to their craft than the Rock-n-Roll bands I grew up with...

Now I have seen some really great shows over the decades, Pink Floyd, Springsteen, The Who, Doobie Brothers, Heart, Paul McCartney, Inxs and many more, but the run of the mill rock show when I grew up was dominated by untuned, out of synch songs that rambled on far too long as the lead guitar player clanged on a three note riff for what seemed like forever...

I see why I needed the pot to enjoy these shows.

But I liken these specatcles to Broadway without a book. And as I grow older, I like them. And I can enjoy them sober.

There, I admit it, the Celtic Women is fine entertainment.

And, I admit here and now, I saw the Siberian Orchestra a few years back perform their Christmas show. Also saw Mannheim Steamrollers show as well. Both had wonderful music that I appreciated.

I tell you if I am going to shell out 75-100 for a ticket to a show, they had better have their game face on.

All the recent shows I have seen, Lyle Lovett, Ryan Adams, Neko Case and James McMurtry were all fine shows and they gave it their all while on stage although McMurtry, by the end of the show, was shit-faced, still it was entertaining. Nothing like the old days.
