Got panicky by 5, x-ray next day, followed by clean-out liquid and another x ray the next day, then an appendectomy when it appeared to be lodged there. Surgeon got his healthy appendix but missed the battery. Mom found it two days later in the "collection" bucket. Casing was a bit corroded but it hadn't ruptured.

I knew a guy that swallowed an open fingernail clipper when he was 6. He was playing with it in his mouth and swallowed it when he fell off the back of the sofa. They had to go to the hospital to get the thing out.
