Anybody else decorating for Christmas yet?
I haven't set up the tree but I've been putting out candles and wreathes and random holiday decorations.

I just couldn't wait. The house looks really great at Christmas, and my mom will be arriving for a visit next weekend and I wanted her to see the house ready for the holidays.
Should I be nervous or excited that I'll be meeting my mom's new boyfriend next weekend too?

1. We're going to buy our tree today....
but probably won't decorate it until next weekend.

You should be absolutely excited!!! I'm sure that your Mom is.

2. It's a great time of year, isn't it? I love the holidays.
My mom has been a widow since '94 and I've wanted her to met someone nice it seems forever. So this year she has and I'm finally meeting him. :)

3. I put our only window display - a large wreath made of vines with appropriate
christmas shit all over it.
We have a brass wire christmas tree somewhere, but I haven't seen it since last year.It will probably go up soon if I can find it.
Oh, yeah - I swiped some big pinecones for a display, too - will be near the brass tree.

4. Question about "Christmas shit":
Is it red and green or silver and gold? :P :hi:

18. Some of each - it's an old wreath and stuff keeps falling off of it.
I just hung it on thanksgiving, and didn't even bother to really examine it.
It used to have a lot more decorative shit on it than it does now - kind of a wooden vine wreath with some ribbons around it in places. Not really as festive as it could be, I guess.

5. um...HELL no!
I like to aim for the 10th or so. Usually it's x-mas eve, though:rofl:

that way it lasts better for when I take it down in February:rofl:

8. Putting up is fun, taking down is not.
If I could get away with it I'd leave the decorations up through at least January but hubby would get bent out of shape. :)

My family never got the tree until the week before, if that, so it it's up too early it doesn't feel right to me. OTOH, my husband likes to get it 2 weeks before. (but then we never do, or there's a blizzard or something.) One year the tree we got had frozen pine cones on it that made cracking noises when they opened in the warmth of the house.

12. I like that to.
I have some really old ornaments from my Grandparents.

We will have two trees.

One downstairs and one in my room.

I will be cutting the cedar tree down tomorrow morning.

It it about 6ft. tall and beautiful.
