Are there any safe appetite suppresants...

I have always had a big appetite. I was raised with all Italian mother & a All French father and we always had good food. I was always encouraged to eat big.

I REALLY fell off the wagon these past few days (long dark cold days and the holidays are not a good combination for restrant).

I am going to be around temptation everywhere.

Are there any safe appetite suppressants?

1. Drink a large glass of water before you eat.
Also, use a smaller plate and eat smaller portions of everything.

3. Try this for curbing your appetite...
Print this out and hang it on the door of the fridge:

(CAUTION! Side effects may include a strong desire to burn, gouge, stab or otherwise permanently damage your eyeballs.)

4. Google L-Phenylalanine, an amino acid.
I have used it off and on for years when needed. Takes about a week to kick in, is safe.

7. Sounds corny, but fiber helps a lot.
Nature's Own Double Fiber bread, oranges...anything to boost your fiber intake. Eat a good breakfast so you don't feel starved the rest of the day.

9. Fiber does help.
You get to a feeling of full faster and sustain it longer with whole grain products and fresh fruits provide energy from the natural sugars.

Raw vegetables are also good because you can eat large quantities of most vegetables with very little caloric intake. Carrot and celery sticks are dieter staples for good reason. One trick to use diet creamy salad dressing as a dip to have along with those raw vegetables. As long as you know the caloric value and limit the portion size, it's all good.

8. I second both posts #1 and #2.
Use water to your benefit before and during meals. Also, maybe 20 mins or so before a meal, eat a handful of walnuts. That will give them time to curb your appetite some.

I would definitely try those methods before looking on the drug store shelves. :hi:

10. I don't know how SAFE this is, but it would work...
Step 1: Go to http://digitaldietincentives.com/product_details.cfm/item/custom-diet-motivation-plates.html

Step 2: Send them twenty dollars and a picture of George W. Bush. Receive Shrub plate in the mail.

Step 3: Eat only off that plate until you're down to the weight you'd like to be.

11. I don't know how well that would work.
Personally, I'd make sure his face was completely covered by food and then eat it all really fast so I could throw the plate in the sink.

12. Exercise
Contrary to what you might think, a good workout DOES suppress the appetite. The only exception I ever noticed was swimming. Swimming usually makes me ravenous. Not sure why.
