Sci-fi buffs - Try me! Your own 'analog' cover for free! (dial-up warning)
Edited on Fri Nov-27-09 06:11 PM by Call Me Wesley
Here's how it works: The first five who reply to this, providing me with a title/author's name and any additional info will get an original and free cover of their own 'analog' novel.

Here's the 'analog' cover layout:

So, if you want to play along, provide me with a title, your author's name ('Trout Kilgore' is always a winner,) and other input if you like, given I can come up with something. Give me some time to finish it, and I'll reply with it to you in this thread. Image size will be 1024 x 768 px.

Sample here:

I won't reply tonight, but I'll get started at the requests tomorrow. Shoot me your best.

6. Okay, although I was expecting some made up titles/authors,
but that's fine. I went the very, very simplistic way with this one, since the novels are this rich, it's hard to choose a dominant topic.

5. The Stars My Destination by Alfred Bester
Edited on Sat Nov-28-09 05:33 AM by Frank Cannon
A brute by the name of Gully Foyle has sworn blood revenge on the occupants of a spaceship that left him for dead on another ship in deep space. Complicating his intricate plot for vengeance is that he's been given an elaborate blood-red facial tattoo like a Maori warrior, including the word "NOMAD" (the "O" actually being the symbol for Mars) on his forehead.

See what you can do with that.

This novel has quite some stuff to choose from, and no, no tattooed faces in this one but you'll get it what or who it's about:

16. Wow! Very nice! Thanks for that.
I chose that book because it's a hard one. There is, like you said, a lot of stuff going on in it!

I wouldn't even have thought to include the young Ms. Presteign in it, though she plays a pretty significant role in the story. Well done.

37. Is beautiful! And hip!
And so very 1966. Thank you CMW, you got fine skills.

Funny little coincidence, I was sitting on a train yesterday next to a guy who'd just got back to Oz from a trip to Paris. He fell in love while he was there, pulled out his camera to show me her picture, and apart from having hair she's the spitting image of your coverwoman.

it's not sci-fi but it is a book I'm working on. Main character is a two time loser named Dickie Pickles who has a spider monkey side-kick and they are pick pockets. Time frame, 1934.

Do not weep!

I'm getting ready to put up the last batch in around half an hour or so.
