Why does a partial appliance cost more than a whole one????

Have I mentioned that I hate my oven? So I thought I might look for an electric wall oven that I could install in a wheeled cabinet and have it be portable for cooking outside in summer and right here next to me in the winter.

It seems wall ovens cost more than a whole range that comes already IN A "CABINET". :wtf:

1. Probably unit cost...

If it requires it's own assembly line and the line makes fewer units then the cost per unit is gonna go up.

4. well there is that

but yeah some do - they don't twist open but I have seen some that are sort of like spacers towards the back of the rear passenger windows.

I drive a couple vehicles that still have the old style triangle rotate/twist vent windows. Then there are the small vent windows that only open an inch or two with the little devices that pinch your fingers - as in the side windows in king cab trucks.

5. There must be some secret retail rip-off at work here.

I recently found out that a one-way flight from Romania to the U.S. costs almost twice as much as a round-trip flight. Oven, car window, or flight, I'm extremely suspicious/paranoid. :tinfoilhat:

almost ALWAYS cheaper for round trip - and of course you can't sell (or even give away) the part you don't need
