I Made Thanksgiving Dinner Today, And It Actually Turned Out! Here's the menu:

Sweet potatoes with marshmallows and butter whipped in, seasoned with spices
Green Bean Casserole
Potatoes
Gravy
Buttermilk Bread (made with cake yeast, flour, and of course, buttermilk)
Pumpkin Pie with Cool Whip

we're trying something different with the turkey this year. we usually just rub it with olive oil and a bit of sea salt, but this year we brined the turkey and stuffed rosemary garlic compound butter under the skin and stuffed an apple, onion and a bit more rosemary in the cavity.

we also have garlic mashed potatoes (the garlic is being roasted in the turkey drippings), mandarin orange and ambrosia salads, sweet potato sash, stuffing, green bean casserole and homemade wheat and white breads. dessert is going to be pumpkin pie made completely from scratch, pecan pie and an apple, pear and cranberry crisp.

we're having twice the number of people to dinner than normal, so we expanded the menu quite a bit.
