1. I hate mine too!
Actually, I have a double oven and the big one has terrible calibration, the smaller one only has slightly weird calibration but both of them can get very hot -- it's maintaining a nice medium temperature where they fail.

2. I knew I wouldn't be able to do a big turkey in there
Edited on Thu Nov-26-09 01:54 PM by Kali
but I thought I might be able to make it work for an hour or so. And it got good and hot (that 425 for 15 min then turn down to 350 for pumpkin pie thing) but as soon as I put the pies in it quit and dropped to 300. Now I can't get it back up above 350. Not sure what that 15 minutes of 425 is actually supposed to do, but I barely got 5 minutes of it.

sigh

Turkey is getting cooked in parts, bbq and crock pot. Hey as long as it is cut up I suppose I could even fry a couple parts. Maybe SOMETHING will turn out edible:P

3. Mine runs about 25 degrees too hot.
If I forget to adjust, I wind up burning whatever it is I'm trying to bake. Not so bad if I'm roasting something, but trying to bake things can be a nightmare.

4. Might it be the fuel?
At noon my water pressure dropped in half. It's normal now. Maybe there's peak usage today. Dana ;)

5. nah, it's been like this for a while
only 5 years old and just a cheap POS. It needs one of 4 possible parts - three of them cost $100, the other is $200.

I can't afford to start doing $100 guesses right now, nor can I afford a new POS stove (and especially not a good one) so I just take antacids and try to avoid using it as much as possible.
