"The Last Waltz": Thanksgiving Day, 1976
November 25, 1976, 33 years ago yesterday, in fact. The Band's farewell performance, with many special guests, was filmed at the Winterland Palace in San Francisco. Martin Scorsese directed the film, which was released in 1978. If you haven't seen it, and like any of the artists featured, do yourself a favor and get a copy. It's a Thanksgiving tradition in our house.

6. One of my favorites
What a line-up: Dylan, Clapton, muddy waters, neil young to name a few.

I saw the movie @ the Kingsway movie theatre in Brooklyn. I was 18. Levon Helm recited the Spring Song in old English. So the kid in back of me says "what the fuck was that?". So I said "the spring song from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales". And he said "and who are you, fucking Einstein???"

A Brooklyn story if ever there was one.
