Ok...how to start. I found on the "interweb" a recipe for microwaving turnips. It said 25 minutes, whole and unpeeled, would literally make mashed turnips in the skin. Cut the top off and voila! Mashed turnip to add to mashed potato!

Well we have a very powerful microwave so I lowered the time to 20 minutes, wrapped it in a paper towel as recommended, and let her loose.

Within 15 minute Stephanie runs in and says the turnip caught fire. She had put out the flames but there remained a dead turnip. After taking tongs and pulling the charred remains I cracked it open to find coals...Like in a camp fire.

So would another 10 minutes make it a diamond?

I think I may have very special microwave.

1. Your microwave is nothing special
Your recipe, on the other hand, IS rocket science.

You sure it was microwave over for 25 minutes, and not just plain ol OVEN?

How's the kitchen smell?

2. Weirdly there was no smell! And it was a microwave recipe not oven.
I still think the machine is special...No smell and glowing coals in the heart of the turnip.

What should I mess with next?

4. Havocdad asked if you may have misplaced a decimal in that cooking time
And he says have a drink and drop some mentos into some soda bottles while you look for more recipes. The soda fountains will occupy Stephanie while you look for more stuff to incinerate.

Do you happen to watch Myth Busters? You might get a guest appearance if you keep cooking.
