I think any senior citizen who wants a stuffed animal doll with motion
Edited on Wed Nov-25-09 07:33 PM by XanaDUer
Should have one. I am going to attempt to buy one of these things this Friday.

My job does a lot of community organizing and donating, and periodically sends out lists of things that teenagers locally need (sadly, abused kids, and there are a lot of them, needs school supplies and book bags).

A local senior home sent out its wish list today and, along with the usual items like slippers, lotion, and cotton balls, someone wants a battery-operated stuffed animal that moves.

This is such a unique request, it caught my eye, and I've decided I have to get one of these items and donate it.

Everyone have a happy Thanksgiving tomorrow! Let us remember the less fortunate among us!

Good night all.

2. One of the residents
in the retirement center where I work loves dogs so much and his died, so someone bought him one of those small battery operated toy doggies that look like it's sleeping and it moves as if it is breathing as it lies there. He loves that thing!

:hi:

3. You know, that might be it
I was wondering why a senior citizen would want a toy like that. That tears it; I shall get two!

4. I'm sure they will be very thankful.
In our country, the elderly are not regarded as they are in other parts of the world. Many of them are isolated and warehoused in nursing homes because there isn't the ability in many cases to care for them in our own homes as was done only a few generations ago. They are touch deprived, not hugged or caressed nearly enough. Something like that gift that might seem insignificant on the surface of things, can mean more than you might think.

You are very sweet to make a difference for them.

5. I know we had them at Sears when I was still working there last month.
I loved playing with those things when my boss was not looking, they're pricey but so cool (The ones made by WowWee that mimic baby animal behavior are like $50-$60 each.) I'm 30 and I want a toy like that.
