Has anyone ever been driven mad by radio stations playing Xmas songs

weeks and weeks before Xmas?

I listened to TV this morning rather than radio just to get away from it.

1. The trick is to find radio stations that don't do that
which is why I listen to one of two of our three public radio options: classical on 99.5 or local/new pop/rock/jazz music on 89.3. (I don't like to listen to talk.)

Maybe you have alternative community radio (similar to KBOO in Portland or KFAI in the Twin Cities), where the announcers may sometimes be amateurish but the content is usually left-leaning talk and commentary or eclectic music.

In other words, explore the radio dial.

2. It's hard in these parts. We have lots of religious stations; do have a public radio station,
(that's where I listen to Prairie Home Companion on Sat. evening :-) ). Other than that, lots of talk radio and C&W.

BION, NO good college radio accessible here.

4. Always make sure your radio comes with a way to turn it off
That way it won't make you crazy.

6. I don't even want to know about those
A couple of years ago, some people I know were groaning about a song called "Christmas Shoes," and I was blissfully unaware of it because I never listen to commercial music stations.

My brain has room for only so much garbage, and I fill that niche with old TV shows.

7. Does your computer have sound? I listen to music radio online and there
are so many different stations it's possible to avoid Christmas music.

8. I almost did several years ago, when I was going through physical therapy and was in traction while
listening to the radio playing constant Christmas music. The cheery music combined with what was going on in my back was enough to make me confess to just about anything.
