Poll question: Who here likes the works of Edgar Rice Burroughs?
Edited on Mon Nov-23-09 10:12 PM by MrScorpio
He was much, much more than Tarzan. I was big fan of JOHN CARTER OF MARS, which is going to be made into a movie for release in 2012! It's got Willem Dafoe in it, woooo!

3. I've only read one of his books:
The Mad King. I liked it, but I doubt I'd go back and read any of the others.

4. I read the first three books of the Barsoom series...

...before I even realized he wrote the Tarzan stuff.

Seems hokie and repetitive now. But when I was little, that was my other world, man.

(And in case you didn't know, "theft is almost unknown upon Barsoom." )

6. You reminded me that I have two of the Martian Series books.
Searched the shelves and found

The Chessmen Of Mars and

Thuvia, Maid Of Mars.

It's been a long, long time since I read them but
I remember enjoying them a lot. Good news to hear
about the upcoming movie.
