1. For mind-numbing action, yes. For science and high standards of script and acting, no.
Have fun but don't expect more than that. It begins with the implausible and goes from there.

Also, I was wondering how the Tibetan monk knew the Japanese Zen story of "you must first empty your cup...". Very well-read, those Himalayan recluses

2. 2000 and 2004 were horrid movies. I can't imagine 2012...
President elect Palin and VP Elect Beck.

5. The plot was deifinetely lost there, but the SFX was good.
I was surprised to see AN-225 (In the movie, it was AN-500 (fictional)) in the movie. I checked info and it said it's a CGI rendering one - I thought it was the real thing.

8. You know, that's truly usually the case.
I hope that someone gets a few great scripts to him, to offset this one.

Did you see his recent film (last couple of years) in which he plays the father of a family that has just lost its mother to action in Iraq? Brilliant.

7. It's pure escapist fun
It made me almost nostalgic for the disaster films of the 70's, before the trend went overboard.

9. Nope!
But it's a fun way to spend a couple of hours if you like action flicks: Start to finish this movie is nothing BUT that.

I enjoyed it!

14. For mindless action and cool FX, it's great.
Don't go in expecting more than that and you will be happy.
