1. Goddammit.
The loser craptastically inelegant chef won it.

Maybe Mehta can win some other time.

How unfortunate.

Steingarden must be livid.

2. My condolences
I was really ambivalent this time. Maybe we'll see Mehta do something else later on.

3. I was really disappointed with the finalists and it seems the judges were as well
I really like Michael Simon last year!

4. I was disappointed, too - Mehta was good, but only in comparison to the others;.
I wish John Besh had been in the contest this year instead of last year.

He's a far better chef than any of the idiots in this year's line up.

And Food Network should have reserved the right to say "Wow - no one in this year's competition was worthy. Sorry, no new Iron Chef this year."

5. I hoped the food network was going to say neither was worthy
I did like the fact that the judges didn't lie and support one strongly - they admitted neither was all that impressive.

John Besh was quite good as well and the showdown between he and Simon was a good one. :hi:

6. I figured Chef Mehta was done when
Michael Symon said that he made some very basic mistakes.

I wanted him to win. Oh, well.

I had wanted Chef Freitag to win. :(

7. I think the best chef won.
Mehta is interesting, but he's an odd character. I think Garces has a lot more potential. Now, are they going to replace anyone?

And what's with the promos for Iron Chef at the White House?

8. Initially I was rooting for Mehta but I began to wonder if he was ever
going to cook something that resembled real food. His presentation was great but I felt I'd starve to death on his meals. And he seemed so grumpy. I know the pressure is on these chefs but I think personality had something to do with the final call. Garces was far more likable.
