Poll question: Do spoilers bother you?
Knowing the ending has rarely depreciated the value of a story for me. How about you?

1. My dear Mutley!
If I see a thread that says "spoilers" then I just avoid it. I don't want to know what's going to happen!

I want to feel the surprise myself.

Good morning!

2. If it is for a movie I intend to watch, yes. Most movies are pure crap so I don't care about them.

3. It really upsets me,
especially for movies like 'Titanic' and 'Hindenburg.' ;)

No, to be honest, not at all. I often read the last page of a book first, and I check movies out if I'm interested in them before I watch. I may up ending with knowing how the story goes, but not how it's presented, filmed, written, etc.

And there's another thing which goes for movies that are based on a book; considering you've read the book and still want to watch the movie, do you consider it 'spoiled?' I don't think so.

But putting 'Spoiler' into a thread if you're going to tell all is a good idea. I, of course, will look! :hi:

4. Unannounced spoilers bug me.
Give me the option of seeing what happens or not. Sometimes I want to know; sometimes not. I like options. :D

5. spoiler warnings should be mandatory. if it has a warning, great
then people who have seen it can discuss it.

if I mentioned that darth vader was luke's dad, someone would have a shitfit that I had not included a warning

6. Sometimes it bugs me, sometimes it doesn't.
Example of when it really, REALLY bugged me: Back in the year "The Sixth Sense" came out, I was watching Late Night with Conan O'Brien. I hadn't seen "The Sixth Sense" yet, and therefore didn't know about the twist ending. Andy Richter (a usually lovable man) became the object of my wrath after he blurted out the twist ending. You could hear several people in the audience gasp audibly as they, too, hadn't yet seen the movie. Knowing the twist ending totally ruined the suspense for me when I finally saw the movie.

7. When I first saw The Sixth Sense
I knew the twist because my daughter had told me. I was glad I knew--the story was much easier to understand that way.

I often go online to look for spoilers in order to decide whether I want to watch a movie or not. I'd rather know the ending instead of being unpleasantly surprised.

For me, "spoilers" don't spoil anything.
