I had my colonoscopy today.
It wasn't bad, I was awake for the whole procedure and remember everything. They didn't find out right away what was causing my problems, but they snipped two Little polyps and took TONS of bio spies. We should know in a week what the lab says.

Tomorrow is my cat-scan,I have to gulp barium starting two hours before. If they can't find out what is wrong with me after all these tests,I am going to be very upset!!!

the past several months. I feel for you. Did you get the banana-flavored barium? It's not bad but it's not great, either. I don't even want to swallow that much of something I really enjoy in that short a period of time. My issues are apparently being caused by my slight case of diverticulitis.

Hope they get to the bottom of your troubles. :hi:

24. I had berry-flavored barium.
It really wasn't bad, mostly just bland, but I still can't look at berry-flavored yogurt or smoothies. I didn't know when I woke up I'd be chugging barium, and it was a very stressful day.

I drank the barium today and it wasn't really all that bad. Better than the coylite i had to drink for my colonoscopy, that's for sure!

I went through that also. Everything was A-ok after eliminating the major stressor (ex-husband) in my life.

Hope all is well for everyone. The tests are unpleasant but not too painful.

i had one a couple of months ago, but was totally out for it - the only way to go, imo. it took about a week before i felt "right" again, but thankfully, no polyps. still dealing with the freaking GERD tho :(

hope you feel better soon!

32. The liquid prep was gross
because you turn into niagra falls for two days. But it stops very soon after you stop drinking the stuff.

34. I know what you mean
;)
When I did the liquid prep, I basically just sat in my bathroom with the HalfLytely jug on the sink and a clear view of my bedside clock. I managed to stay on the every-ten-minute schedule easily that way and was amazed at how fast the 80 minutes went by

But it was truly a gross experience drinking that stuff

53. I would think drinking it really cold would make it harder to get down
and stay down. I drank my "cool" or maybe a little closer to room temp. It was still nasty, but I wouldn't have done well from throat-freeze on top of it all ;)

44. I have spent a lot of time seeing doctors and going to the hospital
the last 20 years.I am going to make a prediction. All the labs and pathology reports will all come back negative and they won't be able to tell me what's wrong. WATCH!!

I WANT them to find something wrong so we can fix it and turn off the diarrhea once and for all! (sorry about the TMI, but you're all my online family, get over it!) :-)

These tests are no fun but hopefully worth it. I know what you're going through. It's really rough but it's best to know what you're dealing with or not dealing with. The mystery is the anxiety.
Best thoughts and wishes!

52. Best to you.
I have a shirt-tail relative who was diagnosed with Crohn's disease 25 years ago. She suffered daily and had a very limited lifestyle. Since she moved nearby and is now seeing new doctors - it's a whole different diagnosis.

A surgery and she feels absolutely great. It was not Crohn's after all. She suffered all those years from a mis-diagnosis. Each doctor who read her charts just nodded in agreement, until she moved many miles away and had new doctors and clinics.
