Overheard at lunch: Wingnut berated by a conservative

I was at lunch today and a wingnut at a table next to us was talking to his friends about how Obama didn't do anything when Russia attacked Georgia and how all our allies should be worried.

A guy at the table on the other side of the wingnut turned around and in a loud voice said: "Goddamn it, I don't like Obama either but that happened last year when Bush was president! And Georgia was the aggressor. It's ignorant teabagging Palin lovers like you that are killing our party. Now shut the hell up already."

My friends and I started laughing out loud and the wingnut glared at us, which made us laugh even louder. The wingnut exited the restaurant before he was finished eating and left his friends there, they never looked up from their plates the rest of the meal. None of them left a tip the waiter so I asked the waiter how much their bill was and paid the tip, letting him know that a liberal would never take it out on the help. He said it was common knowledge that conservatives were cheapskates when it came to tipping.

I stopped by the table of the conservative and told him that I appreciated knowing there were still some conservatives who were level headed about their criticisms of Obama. He acknowledged that it was going to get worse before it got better and he feared for the country because of it.

1. Thank You from a employee of many a eating establishment,
That waiter is very grateful!

When one makes $2.17 an hour(Federal Min.Wage for restaurant floor staff) every penny really helps!

4. My sister was a waitress and she would come home crying

Because of how little she made in tips after busting her ass for 8-10 hours. We worked it out one night and her average for tips was less than 5%.

I convinced her to go back to school and now she has a Phd. and makes more money than I do (something she never lets me forget).

2. This scenario reflects the situation. True conservatives, republicans,
etc., are embarrassed and offended by this whole Alaska woman thing. And the whole crackpot taking over the party thing. We must not forget, there are decent conservative republicans out there. We
disagree politically with them, but so many of them are offended by the crackpots, just like us. This was a rare one that would so state in public. And to a stranger.
