At my BH location, we have sold a grand total of 5 "Going Rogue" copies in 36 hours.
I rang up 2 myself, both of whom said they were giving it as a gag gift to piss people off.
We have had almost 2 dozen copies ripped or vandalized with ink or knives.
Now I know why we canceled 80% of the initial order.

1. Heh. Though I'm not sure I agree with defacing the books (I have, however, entertained
the thought occasionally).

15. Her book defaces itself
That being said, I hope they find their way into recycling, because too many trees gave their lives for her spew.

2. I thought about buying one as a gag gift, but I don't want to contribute to her financially.
Once it's at the dollar store I'm loading up my cart. I give it six months. :D

5. And Midlo told me to wait a week.....
and I'll find it gathering dust on a shelf at GoodWill. If I find several copies, I'll mail you one. :P

14. I buy a lot of books at Goodwill or Salvation Army stores - I read too much
to buy new ones....

I see an awful lot of Rush Limbaugh's and Glenn Beck's
"work", and I have no doubt I will see a lot of Sarah's pretty soon - no one ever seems to buy any of them, even for a dollar or so.

16. Gag gift?
As in 'gag' being a joke, or 'gag' being the sound one makes when they read the first two or three sentences? :D

3. While I would be against vandalizing the book
I wouldn't be against somebody moving it to the fiction section, or maybe the children's section...

4. Those who love her most are not gonna be big readers...
...but you'd think they'd line up to be fleeced (again). They could buy something with her picture on it, and be happy.

6. What do you expect in LA?
Not going to be popular in Boston or New York either. But if thats all they have sold in suburbs of Nashville or Atlanta?

7. I am sure that book is selling well in Atlanta.
Our local TV news station had an online poll asking who would be reading it. And 80% said yes. Naturally, I was in the 20%.

I don't know about Orange Co., CA. Have no idea if the moneyed repugs there have any use for Palin at all.

white, teabagger type purchasing a copy. They should sell they are 40% off for members of course Sarah Palin is like 95% off.

12. I know I have no gravitas in this area
But they are showing video of hundreds of people lining up at her book signings. And, according to Amazon she has already sold over a million books. She has risen above her humanity and has achieved cartoon character status.

21. Here's a video for you ....
She refused to sign the books of 300 people that stood in line over 6 hours. Here are her (probably former) fans, yelling at her while she sits in her bus.

Way to piss off your 20% fanbase, Sarah! :D

Next to a whole pallet of unsold copies of Glenn Beck's "Arguing With Idiots".

22. Here's a video of people yelling at her bus today in Indiana.
FANS of hers, people that bought her book. That she then refused to sign. After they waited in line over 3 hours to get their book signing wristband, and another 3+ hours waiting for her to sign it.

23. I don't like vandalizing. It's always evil.
Ideas defeat bad idea. Persecution on makes idea stronger.

Anyway, I'll probably buy Palin's book... eventually... like when the coloring book version comes out.
