I would like to raise toast,
but none of my gardening books mention it.
Now if I could find a way to grow Eggo's we'd be in business! :D

2. I guess with that kind of toast-maker
it would slowly shrink until the only thing left is the cord.
I'd love to see the recipe!

5. ok...
You can raise toast.

Just plant the wheat,
grow the wheat,
harvest the wheat,
thresh the wheat,
grind the wheat,
bake the bread,
slice the bread,
toast the bread,
voila....toast.

And it only took 4 months.

four months between loaves ;)

7. Only making bread every four months must mean you are a real
...loaver.

Ha ha, get it? 'Loaver'? Ha ha...

OK, there is a reason I don't do stand-up for a living.

8. I loave it!

So, if my apartment burns down with me in it, that makes me a red hot loaver, right? :P

9. Plant your croutons about an inch deep and four inches apart.
Keep the rows maybe nine inches apart.

After a few warm, sunny days, you'll have a garden full of delicious, golden-brown toast. :P

11. Should I use homemade croutons or store-bought?
Because you never know what they put on those store-bought croutons, yet it might make for good fertilizer...

10. I rather raise Texas Toast.
This is Texas.

Of course Texas Toast is bigger and takes longer to raise.

12. Maybe there's a Russian variety.
I know their sunflowers are bigger than any other. Unless I should use beer-bread croutons made with Shiner? :P

14. It's easy! Start with two pieces of bread.
Edited on Fri Nov-20-09 08:59 PM by Gormy Cuss
Put them in the toaster, depress the lever.

When the bell rings, the toast is raised automatically.

15. Doh!
Why didn't I think of that?

However, how do I keep it raised? If I lower it, I have to start all over again...
